Manchester United and England star Marcus Rashford has broken his silence over his future after his move to La Liga side Barcelona collapsed in the summer.

Marcus Rashford has officially become a Manchester United player again after the 28-year-old Three Lions forward’s contract with Barcelona expired in June.

The Man Utd talent had spent the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the Camp Nou and Rashford lifted the La Liga trophy with the Spanish outfit.

Rashford had been a key player for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick after the La Liga champions signed him from United last summer.

Man Utd star Marcus Rashford says he was ‘very clear’ with his message ahead of England’s World Cup campaign

Marcus Rashford’s initial move to Barcelona included an option for the Spanish club to make his transfer permanent in 2026 for a £30.3m fee.

However, Barcelona stunned the world in late May after the La Liga side made the decision to sign England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for a £69.3m fee.

Anthony Gordon’s move to the Camp Nou has now cast uncertainty around the long-term club future of Rashford amid the World Cup tournament in North America.

Rashford has now admitted that he wanted his club future to be resolved before FIFA’s competition, but the issue is now on the back burner amid England’s campaign.

“I live in the moment,” he said, as per Sky Sports.

“I was very clear with everyone involved before the World Cup. I wanted it done before; if it’s not, then I won’t be dealing with it until after.”

Marcus Rashford speaks out on England’s World Cup campaign ahead of the tough test against Mexico

Rashford has started two of England’s four matches at this summer’s World Cup and the former Barcelona and Aston Villa attacker has netted once for the Three Lions.

The United youth academy product has insisted that he is fully focused on helping Thomas Tuchel’s men progress deep into the World Cup knockout rounds.

“I want to be fully present in this moment,” Rashford added.

“We’re fighting for something so special, I don’t have energy to be putting into that.”

England came from 1-0 down in the round of 32 to beat DR Congo 2-1 on Wednesday and the Three Lions will now face Mexico in the last 16 on Monday.
