Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford put in an encouraging performance in the draw with FC Twente.
Once again Manchester United learned that not being ruthless enough in front of goal is a real problem.
Leading 1-0 at Old Trafford at half-time was not enough against FC Twente, with defensive errors leading to an equaliser.
United drew the game 1-1 with late substitutes unable to swing the game in United’s favour.

Marcus Rashford showed promising signs
The 1-1 draw summed up the story of Manchester United’s season. Good performances are being undone by not being ruthless enough, and the team are not racking up enough points, in the Premier League and now the Europa League.
Marcus Rashford was one of United’s best players, catching the eye with an outrageous piece of skill in the first half which nutmegged an opponent.
MUTV pundit David May spoke highly of Rashford’s skill, commenting: “Marcus Rashford has been brilliant down the left hand side. He’s absolutely ripped him to bits.
“Marcus has absolutely roasted the full-back, all that’s missing from his game is a goal.”
May’s half-time comments were echoed by Wes Brown, who agreed there were positive signs Rashford was getting back to his best.
Brown said: “He looks fit, sharp, you know, very, very fast. Can someone set him up for a goal, because if we keep Marcus in form and scoring, and we won’t lose many games.”
Rashford continued to look lively in the second half but he was unable to provide the cutting edge United needed to add a crucial second goal, and he was substituted in the 79th minutes for Alejandro Garnacho.
John O’Shea picked Rashford as star man
Former United defender John O’Shea agreed with the praise delivered to Rashford, speaking post-match he picked the forward out as his choice of man of the match.
O’Shea said he was close to picking Christian Eriksen but went with Rashford: “Really in the sense of threatening all night, not just for his nutmeg, obviously, but he looked really sharp.
“When Marcus is really direct and going at defenders, he leaves him for dead, and that’s what we want to see really. I expected Marcus to play really well today, and he did, you know, and a lot of players did play well, except for that one minute spell.”
Rashford has three goals this season so far, and for all his good work, he did not manage to land a shot on goal against Twente, and add to his tally of 134 scored for the club.
