The 33-year-old ex-Manchester United captain is not at the World Cup this summer after Harry Maguire failed to make the England squad under Thomas Tuchel.
Maguire had been tipped to make the tournament after his resurgence in form under Red Devils boss Michael Carrick during the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
Bruno Fernandes, on the other hand, is at the World Cup with Portugal alongside United teammate Diogo Dalot and former Red Devils teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Why Harry Maguire picked Cristiano Ronaldo over the likes of Bruno Fernandes for the best player he played with
Harry Maguire shared the pitch with Portugal icon Cristiano Ronaldo during the Manchester United legend’s second playing spell at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo returned to the Premier League club in 2021 after Man Utd signed him from Juventus and the 41-year-old impressed in his first season back at the Red Devils.
However, the former Juventus and Real Madrid superstar’s second spell would be cut short after his public falling out with ex-Red Devils and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.
When asked to name the best player he played alongside, Maguire singled out Ronaldo ahead of Bruno Fernandes and talked up his influence in the dressing room.
“Ronaldo. Obviously, one of the greatest players ever to play the game, so to learn from him was really good,” he told SPORTD’s TikTok page.
