Manchester United have a player who has clocked in as the fifth-quickest current Premier League player during the 2025/26 season.
Despite finishing third in the Premier League this season, Manchester United have lots of weaknesses within the squad.
One area is left-wing, as United need a true winger with speed, dynamism, and width to balance out the more inverted Matheus Cunha and unnatural Patrick Dorgu.
This is only an issue on the left side, as United are blessed with pace on the right.

Bryan Mbeumo is one of the fastest players in the Premier League
It won’t come as a shock to anyone that Bryan Mbeumo’s speed has now been recognised as one of the quickest in the entire league.
It is clear to see how quick he is in-game, running in behind and pressing with lightning speed. He is clearly United’s most rapid player, and that has now been confirmed by the Premier League.
The study found that Wolves’ Jackson Tchatchoua was the fastest by quite a distance.
But now he’s not in the league anymore, Mbeumo ranks in at fifth.
- 1st: Gabriel Martinelli – 36.74 km/h
- 2nd: Djed Spence – 36.62 km/h
- 3rd: Destiny Udogie – 36.41 km/h
- 4th: Anthony Elanga – 36.35 km/h
- 5th: Bryan Mbeumo – 36.34 km/h
Mbeumo is United’s only representative in the quickest 15 players in the league, which feels like something that needs to change this summer.

Manchester United need some more speed in the squad
Mbeumo isn’t the only quick player United has.
Benjamin Sesko clocked in at 35.3 km/h during his goal against Everton back in February.
But in general, Mbeumo being the only player in the list of fastest players across the league shows United needs more.
Amad, Cunha, Joshua Zirkzee, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes aren’t blessed with pace and therefore adding someone rapid to the ranks should be considered.
United have been linked with several wingers, such as Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure, who has a top speed of around 36 km/h, while he also runs more than any other winger in Germany.
Signing a player like this could transform United’s attacking options, with a quick, direct, and strong winger who can do it all.
This gives Michael Carrick options.
