Manchester United legend Roy Keane has broken his silence over a potential stunning return to management and revealed his current stance on the matter.
Roy Keane has been out of management since 2011 after his ill-fated spell at Ipswich Town, which ended in him getting sacked after 20 months in charge.
The former Manchester United captain started his managerial career at Sunderland in 2006 before he stepped down in 2008 after 27 months in charge at the club.
Keane, who is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders and captains of all time, has also worked as an assistant manager in his coaching career.
The Sky Sports pundit was assistant manager to Martin O’Neill for the Republic of Ireland and also had the same role at Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in the past.
Despite his disappointing career as a manager so far, Keane has found success off the field as a pundit and has become a leading punditry figure for Sky Sports.
Keane, who named three players who were better than him, has flirted with the idea of returning to management and previously said one team would interest him.

Speaking on the latest Stick to Football show, Roy Keane admitted that he is “swaying” towards the position of not returning to management.
The 52-year-old Manchester United legend insisted that it is “not worth the hassle” anymore and he isn’t keen to receive “disrespect” from people as a manager.
“We were talking about going back into management, I think the longer you are out of it, the more you think – well, the last few chats we’ve had about going back to it, even before Frank [Lampard] came in as a guest – I am swaying towards not going back into management,” he said on The Overlap.
“I just think it’s not worth the hassle and people constantly disrespect you.
“Not talking about Pep [Guardiola] and [Jurgen] Klopp’s level, but when you go down a certain level and you have any sorts of chats or discussions about going back into work [management] – I’m not joking you, people think you are so desperate that you’ll sign anything.”
Is Keane’s management run over?
Keane has been out of management for some time, but the former United star has refused to completely rule out a return to the dugout before.
As the more time passes, however, the more unlikely it becomes for the ex-United and Forest midfielder to ever make his return to management.
Keane was a key figure for O’Neill at the Republic of Ireland and the opportunity to manage the national team could be be too tempting to turn down.
Only time will tell if the Irishman rolls the dice one final time with management, but for now at least, fans can still be entertained by Keane’s antics on punditry.
