Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he is not kept “up at night” over one dream scenario, despite wanting to see it happen in his career.

The Al Nassr superstar is heading towards the tail end of his legendary playing career and Cristiano Ronaldo turned 40 years old on Wednesday.

Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the best players of all time alongside the likes of Argentina legends Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona and Brazil icon Pele.

The 40-year-old Portuguese forward is still playing for both club and country and Ronaldo has ruled out an immediate retirement from the sport.

Ronaldo represented Portugal at Euro 2024 last summer and the Manchester United legend is tipped to play at the 2026 World Cup in North America.

However, the former Real Madrid, United and Juventus forward’s club future remains unclear at Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr.

Ronaldo signed for Al Nassr in 2023 after his exit from Old Trafford in 2022 and he has been a key player for the Saudi Arabia-based side.

The Portugal and Al Nassr skipper is out of contract with the Saudi Pro League club in the summer and it remains unclear if Ronaldo will sign a new deal.

Man Utd legend Ronaldo on dream scenario

Speaking to Portuguese TV channel Canal 11, Cristiano Ronaldo opened up about his relationship with his son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and his desire to play alongside him.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has been part of the youth academy set-ups at Manchester United and Juventus before signing up for the youth team of Al Nassr.

The United legend’s son will turn 15 years old in June, but Ronaldo insisted that it is in his son’s “hands” more so than his own over whether or not they play together.

When asked about sharing the pitch with Ronaldo Jr, the Al Nassr forward said: “I would like it, I would like it.

“It’s not something that keeps me up at night, but I would like it. We’ll see. It’s more in his hands than in mine.

“The years are starting to pass and obviously Cris will have to, one day, leave football because the years I’m extending […].

“There will come a time when it’s no longer possible. Not only physically but psychologically.”

Ronaldo hits out at ‘obsession’

Ronaldo has made 89 appearances for Al Nassr since his arrival at the club in 2023 and the Real Madrid and United legend has netted 81 times for his side.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner ruled out that playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is an “obsession” for him and he wants his son to “follow his path.”

“But I also don’t see it as an obsession,” Ronaldo said.

“He will follow his path, his trajectory. I will be a proud father; I will be proud of whatever he wants to do.

“If he plays, ‘top.’ If he doesn’t play, we tried. At least his father tried hard. But it won’t be a problem either, in my opinion.”
