Kobbie Mainoo has been brilliant for Manchester United since the departure of Ruben Amorim, but this summer, Ineos can set him up to become even better.
Ineos are planning to overhaul the Manchester United midfield department this summer, with Casemiro’s planned exit fast approaching; targets are being weighed up.
Elliot Anderson, Alex Scott, Carlos Baleba and Sandro Tonali are some of the options being considered by United, while Ineos are also keen on Aurelien Tchouameni, highlighting the calibre of potential signing.
All of these would potentially benefit Kobbie Mainoo, who is back to his best and looks set to be a key part of the team going forward. Now, United are planning how to best platform him.

Manchester United planning to sign an athletic partner for Kobbie Mainoo
United’s midfield rebuild plans will be different from the initial ideas, which would have been planned under Ruben Amorim. Because Amorim would have seen Mainoo gone.
But now, a resurgence under Michael Carrick sees Mainoo on the cusp of a bumper contract, which means he will be a starter next season and beyond.
So the new starting midfielder must suit playing with Mainoo.
The Telegraph has claimed that United already have an idea of how to help Mainoo reach that world-class status.
There is an idea that Mainoo would thrive alongside a midfielder who possesses real mobility, which is the complete opposite of Casemiro.
As good as Casemiro is as a box threat, his defensive quality, and his leadership, he struggles in mobility as the game can pass him by quite easily.
So mobility will be a pivotal part of the demands sent to the recruitment staff this summer.
You are building Man Utd’s midfield for 26/27: Is Kobbie Mainoo a first choice starter?
Or are you signing two NEW starting midfielders?
Manchester United’s partner for Mainoo must tick Ineos boxes
United’s midfield rebuild won’t simply be about signing the best player, but rather the best fit to turn Mainoo into the £100m talent he can be.
Adam Wharton is not an option for this reason, with the two considered far too similar to work well as a partnership.
This is also the reason United remain keen on Carlos Baleba despite his poor form for Brighton over the course of this season.
Baleba is as mobile and physical as they come in the Premier League, making him a strong fit to partner Mainoo.
Additionally, Tchouameni is also extremely mobile and has the qualities that perfectly suit playing next to Mainoo.
Lamine Camara would be an outside option for this role, while Ineos are sure to have a shortlist extending to double digits that fit this role.
United need to get this right, as it could determine whether Premier League glory is a realistic target next season.
