Manchester United could not give their fans an early Christmas present against West Ham.
The Red Devils were defeated 2-0 in the London Stadium, in an encounter where there was not much to get excited about for Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag‘s side were severely lacking in the attack. They created little to no chances, leaving Rasmus Hojlund starved up front.
A man to whom the biggest chance of the game fell to was Alejandro Garnacho. He provided a frustrating performance against the Hammers.

Alejandro Garnacho vs West Ham
The Argentine winger didn’t have his best game in a United shirt. If the 19-year-old had put away his one-on-one in the first half, the game could have been a drastically different story.
It wasn’t just the missed chance, Garnacho struggled to make any mark against West Ham. He created 0 chances in the 85 minutes he was on the pitch.
Adam Summerton and Ally McCoist on TNT Sports commentary during the fixture did sum up how Garnacho feels for United at the moment.
“He’s a player that provides excitement and frustration,” said McCoist.
He continued: “That goal against Everton? My word, I like him. He’s direct. He’s really positive. He’ll run at people…”
Summerton agreed: “He’s so quick as well. His top speed clocked at 35 km/h. Only [Rasmus] Hojlund is quicker.”
But then there’s the evident frustration, which came into play massively against West Ham.
Garnacho is still not the finished article
Garnacho, at just 19, is nowhere near the finished article yet, and games like the Premier League fixture against David Moyes’ side did show it.
He still lacks a little bit of intelligence and end product, which has led Manchester United to one of their worst goal-scoring run of form ever.
However, the reliance on the young man seems ludicrous, and since his magical moment vs Everton, he’s not been too great in the league. Excitement and frustration does perfectly encapsulate him at the moment.
