Erik ten Hag took a 17-year-old Amass on tour in 2024, but the Dutch coach felt it was too soon to make him a member of the first-team squad.
It was a different story under Ruben Amorim, who gave Amass seven senior appearances for United, totalling 325 minutes.
Amass has also had spells on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City, but his time with the latter was tarnished by a season-ending injury.
