Manchester United fans had a lot to say about Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian after Inter Milan’s superb Champions League display against Barcelona.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan first arrived at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho in 2016 after Manchester United signed him from German club Borussia Dortmund.
The 36-year-old Armenian midfielder made 63 appearances for United and he scored 13 times and registered 11 assists during his spell at Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan lifted the Europa League and the League Cup under Jose Mourinho before he moved to Arsenal in 2018 in a straight swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

Matteo Darmian was brought to United under Louis van Gaal after the Red Devils signed him from Serie A outfit Torino in 2015 for a reported £12.7m fee.
The 35-year-old Italian captured an FA Cup, a Europa League and a League Cup during his time at Old Trafford before he left United and signed for Parma in 2019.

Man Utd fans on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian after Inter Milan beat Barcelona and reach the Champions League final
Henrikh Mkhitaryan left Roma in 2022 and signed for Inter Milan, while Matteo Darmian spent time on loan at the Italian club during his spell at Parma.
Darmian would complete his move to Inter Milan in 2021 and Mkhitaryan would later be reunited with his former Manchester United teammate at the San Siro.
Mkhitaryan started the second-leg Champions League semi-final tie and the former Arsenal midfielder played 79 minutes before he was replaced with Davide Frattesi.
Darmian, on the other hand, climbed off the bench and Inter boss Simone Inzaghi brought the former United defender on for Yann Aurel Bisseck in the 71st minute.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, could not hold back their feelings at seeing Darmian and Mkhitaryan reach the Champions League final.
One X user wrote: “I cannot wait for someone high up at Manchester United to watch the highlights of this game and decide to drop £40m on Mkhitaryan.”
Somebody else added: “Since leaving Man United, Darmian [and] Mkhitaryan have reached [two] UCL finals. They also won [two] Scudetto titles. In that time, United have been in no [Champions League] finals [and] won [zero] league titles.”
A third said: “I can’t believe I’m watching Darmian and Mkhitaryan playing in the Champions League in May 2025. They were both considered not good enough at United a decade ago and they’re strolling it in their mid-thirties. Fair play.”
“Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a Champions League semi-final in 2025 is just crazy to me as a Manchester United fan,” another tweeted.
While a fifth United posted: “Henrikh Mkhitaryan should have been given more chance at United. Still a quality player.”
Somebody else commented: “United could do worse than investing in Darmian [and] Mkhitaryan… excellent players qualified for the Champions League final with Inter. Never good enough for us, though.”
And a seventh claimed: “Darmian used to fumble at United [and] now he’s cooking here at Inter.”
