Manchester United fans wasted no time instantly reacting to the return of one key first-team player under Ruben Amorim at the Carrington training complex.
Ruben Amorim and Co will embark on their pre-season tour this week after Manchester United players reported to Carrington last week for training.
First-team United players made their return to Carrington in different stages, with the first cohort of talent arriving for pre-season training under Amorim last Monday.
United manager Amorim welcomed his second wave of United players at Carrington later in the same week amid the Red Devils’ preparations for this summer.
The Red Devils kick off their pre-season campaign on Saturday in Europe, with United facing newly promoted Premier League side Leeds United in Sweden.
The pre-season friendly between the Red Devils and Leeds United will be played at the Strawberry Arena in Solna and kick-off is slated for 2pm UK time.

Man Utd fans’ telling reaction to Lisandro Martinez being spotted at Carrington amid Ruben Amorim’s pre-season training
Lisandro Martinez took to social media on Wednesday and the 27-year-old Manchester United defender shared a photo of himself at the Carrington complex.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, were thrilled to see the 2022 World Cup winner amid Ruben Amorim’s pre-season training preparations.
“Good to see him back,” one Red Devils supporter simply wrote.
Someone else tweeted: “Great to see him back! He’ll definitely strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.”
“One of the best news so far for today,” a third Twitter user added.
Another United fan said: “Great to see Lisandro Martinez back at Man United, ready to bring his tenacity and class to the new season!”
While a fifth posted: “The ‘Butcher’ is back and looking fresh!”
“Feels like a new signing,” another claimed.
Somebody else reacted: “Happy to see you back, warrior.”
And an eighth responded: “Can’t wait to get this lad back on the pitch; he was just starting to hit form before his last injury, chipping in with important goals [and] assists, he’s a proper leader on [and] off the pitch.”
Is Man Utd defender Lisandro Martinez back in pre-season training at Carrington under Ruben Amorim?
Lisandro Martinez missed the second half of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee back in February.
The Argentine was stretchered off late in United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford and has been working on his route back to recovery.
Sky Sports reported in June that Martinez, who has been a key player in Amorim’s tactical system for United, is taking part in an ‘individual programme’ this summer.
The ex-Ajax star will continue to work ‘individually’ when the United players return from pre-season amid his roadmap to return to first-team action for the Red Devils.
It is believed that United and Martinez do not want to ‘take any unnecessary risks’ with getting him back to full fitness ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
