Manchester United fans have made their feelings clear after the Premier League club dropped a devastating injury update regarding England star Kobbie Mainoo.
Kobbie Mainoo had a breakout season at Old Trafford in the 2023-24 Premier League season after solidifying his place in the Manchester United first team.
The 19-year-old missed the opening of last season due to a pre-season injury in 2023 before establishing himself as a regular under United manager Erik ten Hag.
Mainoo made 35 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils and he scored five times and registered three assists for Erik ten Hag’s men.
The United star’s stunning run of form led to his senior international call-up for England before Mainoo went on to play a key part in England’s Euro 2024 campaign.

Kobbie Mainoo has become a linchpin midfield influence for Erik ten Hag and he has played in nine matches across all competitions this season.
The England international played 85 minutes of the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa before the October international break, with Mainoo withdrawn for Casemiro.
Mainoo was left out of England’s squad for the Nations League campaign during the October break after he was forced off in the Premier League clash at Villa Park.
Manchester United’s official website on Thursday dropped an update on the players who were at the Carrington training complex after returning from international duty.
However, the Red Devils confirmed that Mainoo was one of the absentees after he suffered a muscle injury and is “expected to be out for a few weeks.”
United players will return to Premier League action on Saturday against Brentford, with kick-off slated for 3pm UK time at Old Trafford.

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were devastated about losing Mainoo to injury ahead of the Brentford clash on the weekend.
One Red Devils supporter claimed that Mainoo’s injury was a “blessing in disguise” after the number of minutes and matches that he has played for United.
But other United fans were furious with the United youngster getting ‘burned out’ by the club and insisted that he “needs rest” after being “overplayed” this season.
One fan argued: “A blessing in disguise for this young man. I hope it isn’t serious and I hope he doesn’t rush to be back on the pitch. I am very concerned [with] the amount of minutes he’s playing for his age.”
Another commented: “He’s played far too many games this calendar year, this is disgraceful miss-management when we all know this was gonna happen. Stop burning out young players!”
A third X user tweeted: “This was always gonna happen to Mainoo. He played nearly every game after his injury last season [and] started all but [two] of England’s games in the summer. He then started the first [Premier League] game of the season when he should’ve had a proper rest. It’s poor man-management from Ten Hag.”
“Mainoo needs rest apparently, he is just 19 and he has played in almost every game since last season […],” someone else wrote.
While a fifth said: “Now, the injuries have started coming. Definitely overplayed.”
“This kid definitely needs a rest, he doesn’t look the same lately, let him rest,” a sixth added.
Somebody else simply commented: “We gonna miss him.”
An eighth fan claimed: “It was bound to happen with how much they have been working him.”
