Manchester United cult hero Javier Hernandez has completed an emotional move to Chivas, returning to his boyhood club at the age of 35.
This summer brings up 14 years since Sir Alex Ferguson pounced to sign Javier Hernandez from Chivas.
That will make many United fans feel pretty old, and those who remember his arrival will recall that he was a complete unknown at the time.
Hernandez had hit 29 goals in 79 games for boyhood club Chivas but wasn’t exactly a household name outside of Mexico when United landed him.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even noted that ‘nobody really heard of’ Hernandez upon his arrival – but he made himself known.
‘Chicharito’ smashed 59 goals in 157 outings for United, becoming a cult hero before joining Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

An absolute predator inside the box, Hernandez was a firm fan favourite at Old Trafford and went on to play for Leverkusen, West Ham United, Sevilla and LA Galaxy.
Now 35, Hernandez would be forgiven for thinking about hanging up his boots and calling it day – but he has instead completed his dream transfer.
Hernandez has now decided to re-sign for Chivas, making a move which will surely see him end his career with his boyhood club.
More than a decade since his last appearance for Chivas, Hernandez is back in one of the biggest transfers in recent history for Chivas.
Chivas have sent out a tweet stating ‘he left, made history and today he is back home’, celebrating as Hernandez returns to Mexican football.

Rumours surrounding Hernandez’s Chivas return have been prominent for weeks now, with his LA Galaxy contract expiring over New Year.
The deal isn’t done until it’s done though and Hernandez has now reacted on social media after finally securing his stunning return.
‘My house, my family, my team, my everything. See you soon!’ he wrote with Chivas fans understandably delighted to see him in red and white stripes again.
Chivas take on Club Tijuana away from home this weekend, but Hernandez will be in line for quite the reception as Chivas host Toluca at the Estadio Akron next week.
United fans will be cheering Hernandez on after finalising his dream move, no doubt hoping to see him score a few more goals yet.
