Manchester United have completed the signing of Charlie Hardy from Derby County.
England U16 goalkeeper Charlie Hardy confirmed his exit from Derby County at the end of September.
Manchester United were heavily linked with Hardy at the time, but a deal has now materialised and the young goalkeeper can look forward to continuing his development at Carrington.
According to The Athletic, Hardy will go straight into United’s academy system.
United’s U18s manager Darren Fletcher will be in charge of Hardy, who will now sign a scholarship before trying to prove himself worthy of a professional contract when he turns 17 in July.
Former United academy coach Neil Young gave Hardy his England U16 debut, and he now has five caps to his name at that level.

Two goalkeepers played for Man Utd and Derby County
Five players played for United and Derby County, but only two of them were goalkeepers.
They include Roy Carroll and Lee Grant.
Carroll spent four seasons at United and two at Derby, whereas Grant spent as many at Old Trafford on top of eight at Pride Park Stadium.
Hardy never made a senior appearance for Derby, so he won’t ever feature on the list if he makes a debut for United and later returns to his former club.
