Manchester United’s final game at Old Trafford in the 2025/26 season ended with a victory over Nottingham Forest.

Michael Carrick’s home record as interim manager of Manchester United has been spectacular, with only one defeat there this season.

On Sunday, United beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 with goals from Luke Shaw, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

There is an unbelievable half-time record at Old Trafford, and not only was it extended in the final home game of the season, but it reached an interesting milestone.

Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko become second ever PL trio to score 10+ goals in debut season🔥

What an incredible achievement, how many goals should they each be aiming for in 2026/27?

Man United’s half-time record reaches 400 matches

It is a fairly well-known statistic that United have not suffered defeat at Old Trafford when leading at half-time since 1984.

The record spans 42 years and, as of Sunday, 400 matches.

As pointed out by OptaJoe on X, United have now gone 400 games without losing when leading at half-time at Old Trafford.

In those 400 matches, United have won 365 of them and drawn 35.

The record came under threat in United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Liverpool when the Red Devils entered half-time two goals up, only to find themselves drawing 2-2 and on the back foot in the second half.

Man United’s home record can lead Premier League title push

Sir Alex Ferguson said it best that Old Trafford needs to be a “fortress” in order for United to challenge for league titles.

Ineos are planning to win the Premier League title by 2028, and it seems Michael Carrick will lead that push with his permanent appointment imminent.

Across both his interim spells, Carrick has coached 11 games at Old Trafford and won 10 of them. A remarkable record.

Next season, Carrick will need to extend his impressive record at home if United want to build on their third-place finish this season.
