Manchester United travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time on Monday night for their Premier League clash against Everton.

The Red Devils boast a very impressive record against Everton at Goodison Park, but on Monday night, a new chapter will open when Manchester United visit the newly-built Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton’s home record is poor at their new stadium, but supporters are keen to build up a fierce atmosphere for the visit of Michael Carrick’s side.

The new Hill Dickinson Stadium has a capacity of 52,769 and Everton supporters will be fired up under the floodlights on Monday.

Everton fans plan ‘cauldron’ atmosphere for Man United clash

Since their move, Everton’s atmosphere has “fizzled” at the new stadium, but fan group The 1878s have hatched a plan to try and drum up a fierce mood for United’s visit.

The 1878s made an announcement that there will be the club’s “biggest single stand flag display” in the new stadium so far, with over 400 flags laid out for fans.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, spokesperson Katie Carter said: “It’s one of the steepest stands in Europe, it can be intimidating if we make it that way, so let’s decorate it with flags and let’s fill it with noise and get it going. Monday night is the perfect opportunity for that.
