Manchester United’s injury problems could be about to go from bad to worse as one first-team star faces a late fitness test.
Ruben Amorim will be desperate to return to winning ways when Manchester United host Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening.

United’s dramatic 2-2 draw with Everton on Saturday afternoon provided more questions than answers for Amorim, who was “upset” at the performance.
As if Amorim didn’t have it hard enough as United boss, an injury crisis including Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo last week seriously weakened his options.
Christian Eriksen and Leny Yoro returned to face Everton, but now United are facing a new injury scare.

Noussair Mazraoui set to undergo medical tests
With Lisandro Martinez out with an ACL injury, Amorim lined up against Everton with a back three of Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui.
It was Mazraoui’s 38th appearance of the season, with the £13m summer signing featuring in every Premier League game so far this season.
However, that run may come to an end on Wednesday with ESPN reporting that Mazraoui picked up an injury at Goodison Park.
Mazraoui suffered a knee injury and is set to undergo further tests on Monday before a decision is made about his availability.
Amorim decided to replace Mazraoui with Yoro in the 70th minute against Everton after the Morocco international complained about discomfort in his knee.
How Man United’s defence could line up vs Ipswich Town
With Martinez and Jonny Evans already out, Mazraoui’s potential absence poses some concerns for Amorim.
It has become incredibly clear that Amorim will not change his tactics, so United can expect to line up in a 3-4-2-1 system at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Maguire struggled against Everton but with options running thin, Amorim may have no option but to start the England international in the heart of defence. De Ligt survived a penalty scare on Saturday, but he too will be called upon by Amorim.
The most likely replacement for Mazraoui is Yoro – who came on to replace him for the final 20 minutes at Goodison Park.

With Yoro returning to the back three, Amorim would likely keep Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu as wing-backs.
Victor Lindelof and January signing Ayden Heaven are other centre-back options that Amorim could call upon if needed.
