Man United announce Player Of The Month award, it’s hard to disagree with the choice

Manchester United have announced their first Player of the Month award for the Premier League season.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have had a mixed start to the Premier League season with the Red Devils winning one and losing one so far.

Manchester United picked up a 1-0 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford thanks to a Joshua Zirkzee goal before a late goal condemned the Red Devils to a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.

This season has been inconsistent already but there can be little complaints about who was named player of the month for August.

Amad Diallo named Player Of The Month for August

United winger Amad Diallo has been named player of the month for August with the Ivorian now looking likely to be the Red Devils’ first-choice right-wing option.

Antony has struggled for the Red Devils during pre-season so Ten Hag decided to hand the former Atalanta winger back-to-back starts in the Premier League and he has impressed.

The young Ivorian forward has made some big strides forward during the calendar year of 2024 and has started all three of United’s games so far this season.

Amad scored a brilliant equalising goal against Brighton with the Ivorian cutting inside and finishing brilliantly for the Red Devils but the goal was in vain as they suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Nevertheless, every time the ball has found its way to Amad, he has been dangerous and defenders have struggled trying to figure out how to deal with the exciting forward.

Amad has chance to prove himself for the Red Devils

Before the transfer window slammed shut, Jadon Sancho completed his move to Chelsea with the winger set to move to Stamford Bridge on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

As for Antony, the Brazilian continues to struggle to prove himself for the Red Devils so Amad certainly has a chance to prove himself for United and firmly establish himself as first choice right winger.

On the left, Alejandro Garnacho will surely replace Marcus Rashford sooner rather than later and the front line would have a different feel to it with Garnacho and Amad on either flank with Zirkzee or Rasmus Hojlund leading the line.
