Luke Shaw has signed a new four-year deal with Manchester United that keeps him at the club until 2027.
The English full-back has been a fantastic servant for United since he arrived from Southampton in 2014, racking up 249 appearances for the club in that time.
Under the new Erik ten Hag era, he’s also cemented his place in the side with the Dutchman preferring the England international over the newly arrived Tyrell Malacia.

Luke Shaw signs new contract
As per Manchester United’s Official Website – here is what Shaw had to say following his contract extension.
“Nine years ago, I signed for this amazing club. I am thrilled to be extending my stay. I’ve grown immensely since coming to Manchester, both as a person and as a player; I know what is needed to succeed at a club like this.
“We’re at the beginning of our journey under Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff. There’s a great opportunity to create something special here, I’m going to give everything to be part of that.”
Manchester United’s football director, John Murtough also added: “Luke is a massively important player to the squad and has grown into one of the best defenders in the world. He has been at the club for nearly a decade and understands the expectations for success, and the hard work, commitment and high standards required to achieve it.
“He has added leadership to his other outstanding abilities, and we all look forward to seeing him in a Manchester United shirt for years to come.”
Shaw has been one of United’s more consistent performers over recent years, and despite some troublesome seasons, particularly around the Jose Mourinho era – he’s always proven why he’s an integral part of the United side.
At 27 years old, he’s just about hitting his prime. It’s the perfect time to reward him with a new deal, which is exactly what Erik ten Hag has done.
