Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha had an important message for Ruben Amorim and the current group of players at the club when the Frenchman appeared on Sky Sports News on Wednesday night.
Wednesday was an important evening for Manchester United as fans got clarity for the first time that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is backing Ruben Amorim to turn things around after a poor start to the new season.
The Red Devils are 10th in the Premier League table after winning just three of their opening seven league matches in the 2025/26 campaign.

Ratcliffe’s recent interview will help ease some of the pressure on Amorim because his job isn’t under immediate threat, but it changes nothing about the fact that he needs results to succeed at Old Trafford.
The poor start to the season has also led to widespread criticism of United’s first team, with new signings trying to settle into their new surroundings.

Louis Saha warns Man Utd always get scrutinised
Along with Ratcliffe’s interview on Wednesday, Sky Sports dedicated an entire show to Amorim’s tenure at Old Trafford.
Former United coach Rene Meulensteen assessed Amorim’s system, while Mike Phelan advised the Portuguese coach to learn some of Sir Alex Ferguson’s media tricks.
Louis Saha, who spent four years at United, also weighed in with a message to Amorim and United’s squad about dealing with scrutiny at the biggest club in the Premier League.
The 47-year-old suggested that former players have got into the current squad’s minds.
In response to a question regarding criticism from former players, Saha said: “I think that’s totally normal that Manchester United’s squad will face criticism from left, right and centre. They have to deal with it. That’s the nature of the position; this club is huge, and it’s probably the most followed club in the world.
Saha continued: “So, if you sign for this club, you have to accept this. Whether it’s coming from a journalist, from former players, or from anyone who doesn’t know football. This is where you need to be like a blockage about criticism because you have to get the positive from it. Then really show that you are focused on the right things and the right things is to progress.”
United will return to Premier League action after the October international break, with 18 players currently away on duty.

The first match will see them travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. Amorim will be looking to record his first back-to-back win in the Premier League since becoming United head coach.
Man Utd can build on clarity from Sir Jim Ratcliffe
There is no denying that at the beginning of the 2025/26 season, there is optimism in the air at Old Trafford. A new sense of belief that things had to improve from the previous campaign.
That took a hit after a rocky start, which is to be expected, but Ratcliffe’s backing of Amorim means everyone comes to terms with that they’re backing him for the long haul.
The feeling of sudden managerial change can cause havoc to a football season, as United witnessed last term before Erik ten Hag’s dismissal. And, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t reflect well on the players that the results didn’t pick up after Amorim’s arrival.
Hopefully, when the internationals conclude, United come back and win more football matches to climb up the league table.
