Manchester United’s deal to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax is fully agreed, says Fabrizio Romano.

While yet to be officially confirmed by either club, an announcement is only a matter of time.

Romano says Martinez has signed a five-year deal which will run to 2027.

United have been pushing hard to sign Lisandro Martinez for a fortnight, with earlier bids of £40 million and £43 million rejected by Ajax.

The Dutch side relented at Manchester United’s offer of £46 million (55m Euros), pushed by Martinez’s express desire to leave.

Martinez is keen to play in the Premier League and reunite with his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who is signing him for the second time.

The Argentine was named as Ajax’s player of the season for 2021/22, with the Dutch side conceding only 19 goals in 34 league games.

Martinez was left out of training on Thursday ahead of his move, and United are likely to fly him out to Australia to join his new teammates for the second half of the club’s pre-season tour.
