Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has shown his support for teammate Alejandro Garnacho.
April 28, 2023 could end up being a significant day for Manchester United. It was the day Alejandro Garnacho signed his contract extension.
United have been desperate to tie Garnacho to an extended deal ever since he led the Red Devils to a FA Youth Cup win last summer.
Now a first team regular and also called up by Argentina, Garnacho is fully deserving of an extended deal.
The announcement came on the same day United blocked him from linking up with the Argentina under-20 squad, showing there are no bridges burned by the club’s decision.
Garnacho is now fit again too, with Erik ten Hag telling his press conference that the teenager is returning to first team training.

Lisandro Martinez congratulates Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho was delighted to get his new deal done. It is fully deserved, and Manchester United have missed him in recent weeks.
He posted on Instagram and saw numerous responses from teammates he has played with across first team and academy levels, including fellow Argentine Lisandro Martinez.

Amad and Diogo Dalot were among the player to also publicly reach out to offer their congratulations to the former Atletico Madrid teenager.
It is great news Garnacho is signed up long-term. His emergence would have been bittersweet if he was tempted away by another club. Now we don’t have to worry.
Garnacho is putting his faith in Erik ten Hag to continue to develop him into a world star. It’s a smart move.
