Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is set to make his long awaited return to team training today.
The Argentine youngster has been missing since his injury sustained against Southampton on the 12th of March.
Good news came this morning in Erik ten Hag’s pre recorded press conference, confirming the youngster was set to return.
“He will return tomorrow [Friday 28th April] in the team training.”
The Dutchman suggested that a match-day return is not expected immediately though.
“We have to see when he can return totally… training and then back into games.”
His return comes as United look to ensure their top four finish and Champions League qualification.
Sunday’s game against Aston Villa may come too soon for Garnacho. However a return next Thursday or Sunday week against Brighton or West Ham respectively, looks likely.
New five year deal
Adding to the positive news, it has also been confirmed that Garnacho has put pen to paper on a new five year deal at Old Trafford.
This new contract will keep the blonde headed Argentina star at the club until 2028 at the earliest.
Garnacho has enjoyed a fruitful breakthrough year in Red as he has contributed four goals and four assists.
Garnacho has told the Official club website of his happiness to sign a new deal.
He said: “I feel very proud and emotional to have experienced these moments already, together with my family who have supported me every step of the way.
“I am relishing the future and can’t wait to create more special memories with this group, in front of our amazing supporters.”
