Lisandro Martinez has sent a emotional goodbye message to Ajax supporters via Instagram after his move to Manchester United was announced.
The Argentine international thanked the fans, his teammates and the club for helping him make his first step to Europe a big success. Ajax in turn asked United to look after him.

Lisandro Martinez promises aggression
Martinez played in Manchester United’s behind closed doors friendly match earlier today against Wrexham, along with fellow new signing Christian Eriksen.
He has signed a contract until 2027, which United have an option to extend by a further year too.
Asked to explain his playing style, Martinez promises aggression, and says he wants to be part of a team which is committed to working together.
He told United’s club website: “I really like to help my team-mates, but every player – I want the best for everybody. If everybody is fit and everybody is good, then we can win, you know? Because we can win with 11 players if everyone is good, it will help with each other. This is one of my first points.
“Then, I’m really aggressive, I love to win, you know? It’s all about winning. I’m a good friend, also!”

Martinez’s nickname is ‘The Butcher’ due to his full-on playing style, although he never once received a straight red card at Ajax.
He previously admitted his idol is former United defender Gabriel Heinze, a player who quickly became a fan favourite at Old Trafford too.
