Lisandro Martinez suffered a potentially serious injury late in Manchester United’s draw with Sevilla.
The worst injuries are sometimes the ones which are non-contact. Lisandro Martinez sustained one late on at Old Trafford.
Martinez went down untouched late in the game against Sevilla. He had to be helped off the pitch by two Sevilla players, his Argentine teammates, who were clearly concerned.
He had to be helped down the tunnel on a stretcher where he was seen with his head in his hands.

Lisandro Martinez injury
Former Manchester United star Peter Schmeichel told BBC Sport he was concerned for Martinez.
He said: “It looks very bad, there was no contact with anyone and Martinez just pulled up. That doesn’t look good.”
Manchester United drew the game 2-2, losing a two goal lead with two deflected late goals from Sevilla.
Martinez’s injury meant United had to play the final few minutes plus stoppage time with 10 men.

Schmeichel added of United’s late collapse: “You cannot believe that this has just happened. That would never had gone in. It hits Maguire on the head and absolutely no chance for De Gea.”
“This is terrible. It’s been coming.”
It is all to play for in the second leg after a night which began so well with Manchester United scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes, with Marcel Sabitzer netting both.
Now we wait on injury updates, with Raphael Varane also substituted at half-time.
Martinez’s one could be serious. And that would be a nightmare for the rest of United’s season.
