Manchester United fans have been in the dark over an injury to centre-back Leny Yoro, with clarity now established.
Leny Yoro limped off 35 minutes into Manchester United’s friendly with Arsenal. It was a depressingly familiar sight for fans to see a player suffer an injury – the first time for Yoro in just his second game for the club.
United have been tight-lipped on the injury, with Erik ten Hag choosing not to speak at the pre-Real Betis press conference, with the details now revealed.
Yoro was pictured with the squad earlier, walking with crutches and wearing a protective boot. It was not a sight anyone wanted to see.

Leny Yoro potential comeback date
Manchester United have confirmed the full extent of Leny Yoro‘s time out.
Yoro is now expected to miss three months of action, United have confirmed.
This is a lot longer than the three games The Sun had previously claimed Yoro would miss.
The MEN claimed Yoro could miss two months due to a metatarsal fracture, which could take him up until the end of September. The line The Times were running was ‘up to two months’.
Now the reality is even worse. Three months is a long time and a significant blow to Manchester United.
Nightmare start for Yoro
There are different types of metatarsal injury, and it now does not look like Yoro got off lightly.
These injuries must be treated carefully and Yoro cannot be rushed. He may also need time to rebuild fitness and get up to speed.
Lisandro Martinez suffered a metatarsal injury in April 2023, and ended up aggravating the injury the following September and missing further time.
This is not quite a worst case scenario, but it’s close. Last summer, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber missed almost the entire season with an ACL tear, weeks after signing.
Like with Kobbie Mainoo’s injury last pre-season, Yoro’s spell out simply delays his greatness.
