Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo is set to put pen to paper on a new contract which will include a significant pay rise.
Ever since Ruben Amorim was sacked by Manchester United back in January, offering a new contract to Kobbie Mainoo became a top priority for Ineos.
Mainoo has been revitalised under Michael Carrick, and he has even put himself back in contention for the England 2026 World Cup squad.
Ineos want to build around Mainoo for the long-term, so a new contract has been discussed with the 21-year-old. According to Fabrizio Romano, Kobbie Mainoo signed his new contract on Wednesday, meaning an official announcement is expected this week.

On his previous deal, Mainoo was earning £20,000 per week, making him one of the lowest-earning players in the United squad.
United’s hierarchy were in full agreement that Mainoo deserves a significant pay rise to match his importance in the squad.
According to the Daily Mail, Mainoo will now earn £150,000 per week on his new deal, putting him in the top 10 earners at Old Trafford.
Broken down, it equates to £7.8 million per year, or £39 million over the full length of the contract.

According to Florian Plettenberg on X, there is no release clause in Mainoo’s contract, giving United full negotiating power over any potential sale.
The deal should be announced this week, potentially ahead of United’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
