It is less than a fortnight since Kobbie Mainoo played in the Euro 2024 final with England. The 19-year-old midfielder is in need of a well-earned rest.
Last season Mainoo played 41 senior games for club and country, plus three academy matches while regaining his fitness after a pre-season injury.

Kobbie Mainoo was not named in Manchester United’s 29-man USA tour squad. None of the players who reached the Euro 2024 or Copa America quarter-finals or later rounds have been included.
This provides a platform for other young players to step up. Toby Collyer has caught Erik ten Hag’s eye, and there are 12 academy prospects on tour in the USA.
Kobbie Mainoo is not actually too far away, geographically speaking. He has shared his first set of pictures from his holidays, via Instagram.

Kobbie Mainoo is spending time with family and close friends in the city of Los Angeles in the USA.
And this just happens to be where Manchester United are located for the first step of the club’s pre-season tour.
Manchester United take on Arsenal at 1am on Sunday at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles.
Kobbie Mainoo won’t be part of the squad – but could he make a surprise appearance to show his support for his teammates?
United’s second game is in San Diego, against Real Betis, another short trip away. Could we see some new faces with the squad, Mainoo included?
Perhaps he doesn’t, perhaps he simply enjoys his holiday, and leaves his Manchester United teammates to it.
But if he chooses to make the short trip across LA to see United against Arsenal, it will be very convenient to do so.
