Manchester United youngster Joe Hugill has been making waves for the club’s under-21 team in 2023.
Hugill has nine goals in nine games so far, and last night non-league Altrincham invoked their option to bring him to the club on loan.
Altrincham signed three United talents on work experience loans in January, meaning Hugill can hop between the non-league side and United’s under-21s.
Until this week only Maxi Oyedele had played for Altrincham, scoring twice, with Hugill and defender Sonny Aljofree waiting for the call.

Joe Hugill enjoys dream debut
After Manchester United’s under-21 game with Leicester was called off on Monday night due to a waterlogged pitch, it was agreed for Hugill to head down to join Altrincham’s matchday squad.
Hugill was named in the starting line-up and it took him only seven minutes to make his mark.
The 19-year-old scored on his debut, in his first ever professional appearance.
York City scored a second half equaliser before Altrincham netted a 83rd minute winner to make it a winning debut for Hugill.
Fellow Manchester United youngster Maxi Oyedele was also among the starters for the National League side, making his seventh appearance for the club.
Hugill may have earned himself a place in the squad for Altrincham’s match against Eastleigh on Saturday.
At the weekend The Sun reported his former side Sunderland are keen on a potential loan deal for Hugill in the summer.
There may be a few clubs queuing up if he continues to take to competitive games like a duck to water.
