Jadon Sancho sends apology message to Manchester United fans

Arguably the one player who came out of the Manchester derby with a little credit was Jadon Sancho.

Sancho scored United’s goal at his former ground, before the game got ugly for United.

The match ended 4-1 to City, and with the exception of David de Gea, United’s players stayed silent on social media.

There are certain players we don’t want to hear from, Harry Maguire for instance, or Bruno Fernandes, whose apologies have worn this at this point.

Jadon Sancho is less vocal on social media, and he has raised his head to speak out on an abject performance.

Sancho apologised and said the players must take responsibility for the performance and result.

Humiliated

Returning to City’s stadium The Etihad for the first time in a United shirt, Sancho was looking to make a statement.

It began well with his impressively taken goal, but he blew another easier opportunity, and in the second half he did not get a look in.

The second half was a humiliation for United and it will have been uncomfortable for Sancho to be part of. He won’t want it to be repeated.

Getting into the routine of post-match apologies, Sancho feels like a United player at last.
