Jadon Sancho is gearing up for the new season with a workout regime on holiday in America.

Sancho was not worried about being spotted in California, wearing his Manchester United shirt with pride.

Sancho is working to get into top shape for pre-season. His absence from the England squad means he will be in the first group of players back for training on June 27.

Missing the Three Lions circus was a blessing in disguise for Sancho and Marcus Rashford, helping them focus on getting back into shape and resetting for a big club season ahead.

At the end of last season Sancho suffered with illness and even had a stint in hospital. So it is important he uses this break to get healthy again.

Last season Sancho did not get a pre-season, only linking up with the squad in early August, and having a full one this year around could make a big difference.

Sancho will hope to become a key player under new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who has pledged to play attacking football. A great opportunity lies ahead.

Sancho cost United a fee of £73 million last summer, and didn’t really live up to the levels of consistency Manchester United hoped for.

He scored goals against Villarreal, Chelsea and Manchester City among others, but it only feels like he has scratched the surface of what he is capable of.

A new manager and coaching staff can help Sancho reach his best, and hopefully become the player we saw at Borussia Dortmund, who hit double figures for goals and assists on a regular basis.
