Ismaila Sarr forced Wan-Bissaka error
Aaron Wan-Bissaka had an excellent debut season for Manchester United, but he did make one high-profile mistake.
In the away game against Watford, Wan-Bissaka gave away a penalty for a mistimed tackle on Ismaila Sarr inside the box.
It was costly for United, with Watford going on to win 2-0. It was not the first time Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s United would lose at Vicarage Road, with Sarr playing a part.

De Gea double penalty save in Solskjaer’s last game
Ismaila Sarr is one of the small number of Premier League players who had a penalty saved by goalkeeper David de Gea.
De Gea saved Sarr’s penalty for Watford during the 2021/22 season in Manchester United’s horrific 4-1 loss, the match that proved to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s final one as manager.
The referee ordered Sarr to re-take the penalty after encroachment, and De Gea remarkable saved the second attempt too.
Sarr refused to be beaten by De Gea on the day. He scored Watford’s second goal just before half-time to give them a 2-0 lead.

The tale of two injuries against Man United
Ismaila Sarr was the player competing for the ball with Lisandro Martinez at Old Trafford in January 2025 when the defender tore his ACL.
Martinez went down in agony after twisting his knee. Sarr was an unfortunate bystander in a heartbreaking moment for the Manchester United defender, who spent nine months on the sidelines.
In the November 2025 game at Selhurst Park, Sarr was the player who suffered an injury.
He was forced off with an ankle injury in the first half after a hefty tackle from Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot. Palace were 1-0 up at the time and went on to lose 2-1.
Sarr left the ground on crutches and there were fears he could miss the AFCON tournament, but he was able to recover in time.
