Erik ten Hag’s future remains unclear at Manchester United with Thomas Tuchel widely viewed as the favoured potential alternative.
Manchester United sit 14th in the Premier League which has led to the situation which has seen Ineos meeting to decide the future of Erik ten Hag.

With performances and results simply far from good enough, it is no surprise that there is such pressure on Erik ten Hag and he could yet see his position terminated.
In this event, it is thought Ruud van Nistelrooy would takeover as the caretaker manager – stepping up from his assistant role and hopefully furthering his status as a United legend.
However, if a new permanent manager is to arrive it seems more and more likely that it would be Thomas Tuchel.

Thomas Tuchel will love working with Bruno Fernandes
If Tuchel is to be appointed the new United boss, he will be licking his lips at the thought of managing Bruno Fernandes, who he has been full of praise for in the past.
As quoted by the BBC in 2021, Tuchel admitted that he had tried to bring Bruno to PSG.
Tuchel referred to the United captain as “one of the best midfielders in the world”.
“He was a big personality for Sporting and an effective goalscorer and an effective guy to make the other players around more dangerous,” said the former Bayern Munich boss.
“To come from Portugal, from a competitive team – a big club but not from the strongest league – and step to one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and the strongest league in Europe, and to have this kind of impact, I have nothing but the biggest respect for this guy.
“He has [had] a huge, huge impact and to have this as a single person in football, you must be absolutely top level because this is almost impossible. The impact he has had is indescribable and unbelievable.”
Bruno has struggled this season so far but having Tuchel as his manager could lead to a resurgence following this slow start. When asked how his team can deal with Bruno, Tuchel made it clear he’s unplayable, saying: “Leave him out, give him a rest”.
Ineos values Bruno as a key part of the United rebuild, although the Portuguese maestro had reportedly been considering his options and wanted to see progress made on the pitch.
Tuchel could therefore be a great move for all involved should Ten Hag go.
Marcus Rashford could also be set for Manchester United resurrection
It is not only Bruno that Tuchel happens to be a big fan of, with Marcus Rashford also a player the German would seemingly love to work with.

Speaking in 2020, Tuchel admitted his admiration for Rashford who had been excellent for United against PSG in the Champions League.
“We value him very much when he plays in England…
“Not in Parc des Princes, honestly, because this gets a little bit annoying with him.”
Rashford has struggled this season – although steadily his performances have been improving. So if the decision to get rid of Ten Hag and appoint Tuchel is made, then chances are we would see a response from Rashford.
