Ian Wright has been discussing the moment in Manchester United’s loss against Bournemouth that sums up the problems at the club.
Manchester United may have taken a step forward midweek against Chelsea, but against Bournemouth on Saturday they took three huge steps backwards.
Bournemouth were good, but Erik ten Hag‘s side were awful in a 3-0 defeat which saw boos ring loud at the final whistle.
As Gary Neville said at full-time, United are ‘consistently inconsistent’ and despite starting largely the same team that dominated Chelsea, United looked like 11 strangers on the field in the rain at Old Trafford.
The performance was terrible, but there was one moment courtesy of £19m man Diogo Dalot in particular which left Ian Wright and Gary Lineker gobsmacked while speaking on Match of the Day on Saturday night.

Manchester United’s problems summed up by one moment
Lineker began by prompting Wright of the moment as he said “There was a moment in the game that kind of summed up why things have gone awry at Manchester United.”
To which Wright explained, “For me, it was when I saw… It was [Diogo] Dalot, and at 1-0 and we are talking about Hojlund’s come on now and he wants his chance.
“This is good play from them, He gets in, he’s got to square this, he’s got to square it to him. I think there’s a total lack of respect for him, he doesn’t even acknowledge [him]… look at him he’s had a shot from the most ridiculous angle, he’s upset with himself.
“But he doesn’t even look for Hojlund, has a ridiculous shot and then Bournemouth scored a minute later, Hojlund has got to be pulling him up in the dressing room about that, he’s got to say ‘come on’.”
Rasmus Hojlund must be absolutely furious
Another Premier League game and another goalless outing for Rasmus Hojlund however he can hardly be blamed.
United’s forward hasnt managed to find the back of the net in a domestic game this season, but in reality Hojlund’s chances are few and far between.
He is rarely found by his teammates, even in a good performance agaisnt Chelsea, Hojlund failed to really have a clear chance.
This surely has left him absolutley raging with his teammates who as Dalot did, consistently fail to find him.
