Arsenal legend Ian Wright has insisted that he can see one Manchester United star transforming under Ruben Amorim once the manager signs the “right players.”
Ruben Amorim officially arrived at Old Trafford earlier this month after Manchester United triggered the £9.25m release clause in his Sporting CP contract.
The 39-year-old highly rated Portuguese manager succeeded Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout after the Dutchman was axed by United in late October.
Amorim took charge of United at the start of the November international break, with Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy standing down as interim manager.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was installed as interim manager after Erik ten Hag’s sacking and the former United assistant manager led the Red Devils for four matches.
Amorim led United for his first match as head coach on Sunday with the Red Devils’ trip to Portman Road against Premier League side Ipswich Town.

Wright on Man Utd star under Amorim
Ruben Amorim’s men made an instant impact against Ipswich Town after Marcus Rashford converted from close range only two minutes into the match.
Despite Manchester United’s strong start against Ipswich, the Red Devils were unable to keep up their momentum at Portman Road on Sunday.
Omari Hutchinson cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s first-half opener and pulled Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich side level going into half-time.
United were unable to restore their advantage in the second half and Amorim’s first match in charge of the Red Devils ended in a 1-1 scoreline.
Red Devils fans saw a shake-up to the style of play from United under Amorim, who deployed a three-man backline in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw.
United manager Amorim played Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes in support of Marcus Rashford in the 3-4-2-1 formation.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, Ian Wright has singled out Bruno Fernandes and believes that the United captain will only improve under Amorim.
“Can I say something though in respect to Bruno Fernandes?” he said.
“He’s going to be even better. He’s going to be unbelievable, even seeing it in flashes.
“He was picking up the ball, and he had options. I’m telling you, once he gets the right players, we’re going to see something.”
Fernandes on Man Utd manager Amorim
Bruno Fernandes retained the captain’s armband under Amorim and the 30-year-old Portugal midfielder has admitted that his Portuguese native can be “really strict.”
“It’s still the beginning but obviously you can see already what he’s about, how much intensity he wants to put in every training session,” he told Sky Sports.
“But then him and his staff are really strict, but at the same time open.
“They came to one of the biggest clubs in the world, they know the expectation is going to be high, some people will doubt, others will think that he will do everything straight away and be brilliant, so he knows what people are expecting.”
