Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane didn’t mince his words when he went on a rant about Bruno Fernandes.
Keane, 53, locked horns with Ian Wright in the latest episode of The Overlap and the conversation delved into United’s ongoing struggles.
While Wright defended Fernandes, Keane went on a rant, saying: “Wrighty, do you know what? I’ve had enough of that rubbish, man.
“You watch Arsenal every week, and we focus more on United. We watched him at Leicester and the FA Cup a few weeks ago. I watched him at Everton on Saturday. People pretend to be closing people down.”
Keane also called Fernandes an “imposter” and joked at the idea of Fernandes saving United when they’re sat in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
He added: “We’re 15th in the league, and he’s saving them. Praise the Lord.”
The argument went on for longer as Keane stressed “talent is not enough” at United, but Wright refused to back down.

The English media enjoyed Keane’s rant on Fernandes because it delivered great quotes and headlines.
Journalists were keen to ask United head coach Ruben Amorim about his thoughts on what Keane had to say about the team’s current captain.
Amorim stressed that Fernandes is one of United’s most important players, but made it clear that he accepts that Keane has high standards from his playing days.
“I heard about that and I have a different opinion,” Amorim said at his press conference on Friday afternoon. “Bruno is really important for us.
“He is playing well in a different context. I know, as a captain, he can do things with his arms. He has had a lot of frustration for this year and the last years. He wants to win and it is hard to deal with that situation.
“Roy Keane has big standards from his time. I have an opposite opinion as I am the coach.”
Although United’s first team have struggled this season, Fernandes has registered double figures for goals and assists for his fifth consecutive season at Old Trafford.
That’s an impressive feat but it is not enough to impress Keane.

Since signing for United from Sporting CP in 2020, Fernandes has won two trophies, including the FA Cup.
United beat Man City 2-1 in the FA Cup final last May when Fernandes lifted the trophy for the first time as captain.
Fernandes is looking for his 10th goal in the FA Cup this weekend when United host Fulham in the fifth round. The Reds knocked Arsenal and Leicester City out in the previous rounds and they’re looking to go all the way for the second time in as many years.
