Manchester United pounced on a lucrative opportunity to tour the United States for their 2025 pre-season.
The Red Devils actually kicked off their summer preparations by travelling to Sweden to draw 0-0 with Leeds United in Stockholm.
After that, Ruben Amorim named a 32-man travelling squad for the US tour, and Manchester United have gone on to win both of their games in the Premier League Summer Series.
A 2-1 win over West Ham was followed by a convincing 4-1 victory over Bournemouth. Next up, Amorim’s side will round off their tour with a clash against Everton in Atlanta.

Man United set to earn £7.5m from US pre-season tour
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been public about United’s financial struggles, especially in terms of the alarmingly low cash reserves at the club.
After the disastrous 2024/25 season, United earned £8m from a post-season tour of Asia, and the trip to America will add to those earnings.
As per the Daily Mail, United will receive £7.5m for their participation in the Premier League Summer Series – the most of any participating side.
This is the second edition of the Premier League Summer Series – a competition which is reportedly under threat with some clubs potentially calling for it to be scrapped.
However, it does present an exciting opportunity for United to grow their global fanbase and to also test the squad against Premier League opposition.
£15m summer injection will help Man United’s PSR
Reports from last season suggested United were close to their PSR limit, meaning Ineos would likely have to work with a limited budget this summer.
It has since become clear that United’s PSR situation is not as bad as first feared, but the club was running low on cash making it difficult to pay up front for transfers.
United spread the cost of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo over multiple years, meaning the up front cost this summer was actually less than £40m.

Across the two tours United have been on this summer, Ineos have banked over £15m, and that doesn’t include any income from the friendlies against Leeds and Fiorentina.
That will go a long way in helping United to manage their PSR balance, and potentially provide enough cash to help Ineos get another transfer deal over the line.
