Manchester United are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday night when they travel to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time.
Although United drew 1-1 against West Ham last time out, Michael Carrick has enjoyed a pretty flawless start to life as head coach.
It was the first time in five Premier League matches that the Red Devils dropped points, but they managed to maintain their unbeaten run under the 44-year-old.

Everton shambles contributed to Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd dismissal
Amorim was sacked after 14 months that consisted of a 15th-place finish in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final against Tottenham in May 2025.
During that time, United had an array of poor results, but among the worst was United’s 1-0 defeat against Everton earlier this season.
After an improved run of form in October, Amorim’s United were brought back to reality when they missed out on a chance to enter the top four in November.
Everton played with 10 men for 77 minutes after Idrissa Gueye was sent off for slapping teammate and former United defender Michael Keane.
It was a miserable day at Old Trafford as United showed little to no urgency, despite having more players on the pitch than an Everton side at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
United ended the match with 25 shots, but only six on target.
Amorim was sacked just over a month later following United’s 1-1 draw against Leeds at Elland Road. The game against Everton fell on the first anniversary of his first match in charge away at Ipswich Town.
Results like the draw against Everton were proof, as far as Ineos were concerned, that Amorim was not the right man to lead United to Premier League glory in the future.

Michael Carrick revival requires consistency
In order for Carrick to finish the season strongly as United head coach, the Red Devils need to show consistency by getting back to winning ways against Everton.
That is the sort of response United needed as they left the pitch after drawing with the Hammers in London.
A win over Everton would be enough to keep United in the top four for another week.
It will also mark United’s first ever trip to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
