How Man United scouts reacted after watching Ali Sahin Yilmaz in action

Manchester United scouts were in attendance to watch Ali Sahin Yilmaz face England’s Under-20s side this week.

The Red Devils adopted a clear transfer strategy under new owners this summer to sign young, hungry players who can continue to develop with the club.

Noussair Mazraoui was the oldest signing of the summer at 26, while at 18 years old Leny Yoro was the youngest. Yoro’s £52m arrival has supplied the club with a young star who could stay with the club for years to come.

The summer window has now slammed shut, but United are already on the lookout for future targets and their latest is Turkish defender Ali Sahin Yilmaz.

The 20-year-old has broken into Trabzonspor’s first-team squad this season after struggling with injury last campaign.

Man United scouts watch Ali Sahin Yilmaz against England

Sahin Yilmaz joined up with Turkey’s Under-20s side during the international break and he played against England at the Pendik Stadium on Friday.

England’s youngsters drew 1-1 and Turkish outlet Milliyet report that scouts from Manchester United were in attendance.

They add that Sahin Yilmaz caught the eye with the football he played and that he was appreciated by United’s scouts.

They reportedly provided a positive report of the young defender back to the club after he stood out during the match.

Ineos have one eye on the future

Many of United’s signings this summer have gone straight into Ten Hag’s squad to improve his starting lineup.

But the new ownership at Old Trafford have carefully hand-picked targets that will continue to improve in future seasons.

Alongside the first-team arrivals, United and Ineos have also had one eye on academy signings and youngsters who can come through the ranks.

The £1m deal for Sekou Kone stands out as a signing for the future, and United are still in the process of signing exciting Arsenal youngster Chido Obi-Martin to bolster their attacking department.

The results so far this season have not inspired hope, but there have certainly been plenty of positive steps taken this summer to create an exciting future.
