Kobbie Mainoo got yet another runout yesterday, with the midfielder featuring for England U19 vs Romania. Here’s how he got on.
Kobbie Mainoo‘s return to full fitness continues for Manchester United. Having to featured since pre-season, Mainoo has been gradually featuring for United’s academy sides.
He first featured for the Red Devils in the UEFA Youth League against Copenhagen. Since then, he’s also featured against Salford City in the EFL Trophy and in the reverse fixture against the Danes.
Much to Erik ten Hag‘s delight – he’s nearly back to full fitness. He picked up some more minutes yesterday – but this time on the international stage with England U19s.
How Kobbie Mainoo fared for England U19s
Mainoo did get some more minutes as he continued his road to recovery.
He came on at 4-0 in the 60th minute for Tottenham Hotspur’s Jamie Donley. The match report confirms that Mainoo finished the fixture, so no injury issues to worry about this time around.
England finished the game 6-0, so two goals were scored with the United midfielder on the pitch. Little much more is known about the fixture. However, it is confirmed that Mainoo didn’t score.
He has a chance to shine again on the international stage in the coming days. Next up for England U19s is a game versus Japan on Saturday before their trip concludes against Mexico on Tuesday 21 November.

A prolonged injury to Casemiro means that Mainoo’s return couldn’t have come at a better time.
Manchester United have a supremely difficult run in the lead-up to 2024, which means the teenager will likely play a prominent role in the squad.
He probably just isn’t up to scratch yet, but best believe the coaching staff will be hard at work on the training ground with the academy prospect.
Manchester United’s first game back is Everton away – we hope to see Mainoo in the frame at Goodison Park.
