Mason Greenwood was once again in action for Getafe as he continues his loan spell from Manchester United.

The young forward is becoming a fantastic player now for the La Liga club. He has fully solidified his role in the squad on the right-hand side for the Spaniards.

Getafe are being rewarded for the risk they took on Mason Greenwood when no one else would in the summer.

Mason Greenwood shines for Getafe

Mason Greenwood got one goal and one assist as Getafe beat Sevilla 3-0 away from home on Saturday.

In the stadium where Manchester United crashed out of the Europa League last season under Erik ten Hag, the loanee shone brightly.

He saw his side go ahead in just the 5th minute, following a Borja Mayoral penalty after a handball.

He then set up the second in the 37th, with the ViaPlay commentator suggesting Getafe were beginning to ‘run wild’ with two first-half strikes.

A delightful left-footed pass from Greenwood into the path of Jaime Mata sent Getafe two goals to the good and sent the away fans into delirium.

Greenwood then got on the scoresheet himself in the second half. They were awarded another penalty, which he slotted to the right of a helpless Sevilla keeper to round off all three points.

Fans were also mega shocked to see Greenwood take a free-kick with his left minutes before, then put away the penalty with his right. United fans are all too familiar with his two-footed qualities.

Sevilla are a club in crisis. They dismissed former Uruguay coach Diego Alonso as manager following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat.
