Scott McTominay is loving life away from Manchester United with Napoli – with the Scotsman bagging another crucial goal against Atalanta.

McTominay has been quality for Gli Azzurri since departing Manchester United in the summer. He has cemented himself as one of Antonio Conte’s integral players as they race for the Scudetto.

The former United academy product’s latest display saw him net again. McTominay made his mark against Atalanta in the 40th minute when he smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make the score 2-1 to the little donkeys.

The game ended 3-2 to Napoli, with Romelu Lukaku scoring a late winner, but it was McTominay who impressed Italian media. It appears fans have also well and truly been won over by Scott – that is if they hadn’t been already.

Scott McTominay is adored by Napoli fans

McTominay took to Instagram after the fixture to post the following message: ‘Una vittoria molto importante!!!! Buonanotte Naples’. This translates in English to: ‘A very important victory!!!! Goodnight Naples’.

Napoli fans responded to this adorning the midfielder.

One wrote: ‘I love you Scott! Thank you, Napoli loves you, keep it in mind!!’

Another adds: ‘Scott you’re definitely half Scottish and half Neopolitan!’

One more acknowledged the players roots, lauding McTominay as the ‘King of Scotland’. Another described him as a ‘phenomenon’.

Another hilariously states: ‘I will name my baby Scott’.

Finally, a symphony of ‘Ti Amo’s’ flooded the comments. Napoli fans really do love Scott.

Harry Maguire and Napoli players laud McTominay

McTominay’s former teammate Harry Maguire also got involved. His comment spoke for itself in the form of emojis. Two clapping ones to be exact.

Napoli players also got in on the act. Giovanni di Lorenzo also said ‘That celebration’ with lovestruck eyes, whilst Matteo Politano commented with the fire emoji.

It was always going to be tough moving to another league for the former Manchester United man, but he’s done nothing but impress in Italy. He deserves all the praise he’s getting.

Next up for McTominay is a huge test. Juventus awaits, who haven’t been in dazzling form in the Serie A. Never the less, big occasions require big players. Scott will be raring to go in this one.
