Harry Maguire and Joshua Zirkzee both sent out emotionally charged messages to Manchester United fans after the Red Devils’ hard-fought 1-0 win over Fulham.

Manchester United travelled to Craven Cottage on Sunday evening after their 2-1 Europa League win over Scottish side Rangers at Old Trafford last Thursday.

Ruben Amorim’s men and Marco Silva’s side played out a lacklustre 0-0 scoreline in the first half and both sides failed to impress with their overall displays.

However, it was United that walked away with all three Premier League points at Craven Cottage after Lisandro Martinez broke the deadlock late in the second half.

Lisandro Martinez saw his long-range strike take a big deflection off Sasa Lukic and Bernd Leno was left helpless to deny the United defender’s second-half opener.

Amad Diallo also had the ball in the back of the Fulham net deep into injury time, but VAR intervened and ruled that the United winger was in an offside position.

Maguire and Zirkzee react after Man Utd win

Harry Maguire saw out the full 90 minutes for Manchester United on Sunday and the 31-year-old Red Devils defender impressed with his overall performance.

Joshua Zirkzee, on the other hand, came off the bench in the second half and replaced Rasmus Hojlund after the Denmark striker’s goalscoring struggles continued.

Maguire took to Instagram and sent out a clear-cut message after the Red Devils secured their scrappy 1-0 Premier League result against Fulham.

“Taking [three] points back to Manchester,” he wrote, adding a heart emoji and a flexed bicep emoji.

Zirkzee, meanwhile, kept his message simple on social media by showing his excitement at United’s second consecutive win across all competition.

“Yanited [sic],” he wrote on Instagram, adding a heart emoji.

United have climbed to 12th place after the win over Fulham and the Red Devils chalked up their eighth Premier League win in 23 matches this season.

The Red Devils are 13 points clear of the relegation zone and United are 12 points adrift from the Premier League top four in the 2024-25 campaign.

United will now return to action on Thursday evening when they travel to Bucharest for their Europa League clash against Romanian side FCSB.

Speaking after the Fulham match, Ruben Amorim highlighted the “details” from United’s performance that were “really important” for his side.

“Again, we controlled the ball, we understand the momentum when to go a little bit slow to the throw-in, when to take a little bit of time, when you have to return to play with the central defenders,” he said at his press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“These kinds of details are really important to give us time to have these kinds of moments from Bruno [Fernandes], from Garna [Alejandro Garnacho], from Amad. They will find a chance.

“So, we need to give time for our team to find a way to win the game. It’s a little bit lucky because the kick changed direction but we had some situations in the last games that was the opposite, so it was a good day today.”
