Manchester United loanee Harry Amass is making the most of his time in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.
Harry Amass made his first-team breakthrough under Ruben Amorim last season, making five Premier League appearances and two in the Europa League.
Amass starred in pre-season for United, but it was decided that going out on loan was the best thing for his future.
Who is your dream Manchester United signing in 2026?
There were several clubs interested in his signature, but Amass signed for Sheffield Wednesday – a club in crisis following a 12-point deduction and entering administration.
Amass’ loan is set to end in January and United have a big decision to make on where the 18-year-old will spend the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.

Harry Amass is one of the best in the Championship
Recently, Amass scored his first senior goal as Wednesday suffered a 3-1 defeat in the Championship. The Owls still sit bottom of the table, still on negative points, but Amass’ individual performances have been drawing attention.
Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen is delighted with Amass and his progress made on loan, stating that the young defender has reached a “new level”.
The statistics back it up, with Statman Dave pointing out that Amass now ranks in the top 1% for ball recoveries and successful take-ons when compared to Championship full-backs.
Amass has played every minute of Wednesday’s last 10 league matches. He has become one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Wednesday are keen to keep Amass for the second half of the season, and a meeting has been held with United to discuss his future.
Harry Amass could solve Ruben Amorim headache
It seems the January transfer window will be spent trying to bring in midfield reinforcements for Amorim’s squad.
However, left wing-back has become a problem position for Amorim, with Diogo Dalot underperforming and Patrick Dorgu out of favour.

Amass played left wing-back in Amorim’s system, and he is in great form approaching January. Instead of splashing cash on a new signing, faith could be placed on the teenager.
Whether that happens in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign or in the summer is yet to be seen, but Amass’ performances cannot be ignored. He is earning himself another opportunity at breaking into Amorim’s plans.
