Manchester United’s first team is finally starting to find form, and that development has been strengthened by one loanee, who is winning the hearts of his club.
A total of 18 loan moves were sanctioned by Man Utd ahead of the season, and excluding players like Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho, or Marcus Rashford, who’ll never play for the club again, there are some interesting storylines to follow.
From Radek Vitek becoming a fan favourite at Bristol City to Dan Gore finally staying injury-free and impressing, the future is bright for Carrington.
The chief success story among all, however, is of a player who has been described as a “different player” by his manager, impressing so much that they want to speak with United to extend his loan.

Man Utd-Sheffield Wednesday meeting over Harry Amass
Harry Amass was sent on the most interesting loan of the transfer window to a troubled Sheffield Wednesday side fighting for their survival.
It was a gauntlet for Amass in a proper men’s game in the trenches, and his development in a sink-or-swim situation has been remarkable to watch.
Amass recently scored his first goal for Wednesday to cap off a string of impressive performances, and manager Henrik Pedersen couldn’t be more impressed.
He said (via Sheffield Star): “The young man who came into Sheffield Wednesday and the young man who just left the stadium today are two different humans – and they are two different players.
“His progression has been amazing, and for a young player like Harry, he came with a lot of energy, but then the Championship always comes knocking with three games in a row. It is tough, but he keeps on playing.”
Pedersen confirmed that Wednesday have had a meeting with United, because Amass’ loan expires in January, and The Owls are extremely interested in extending it.
Man Utd should explore more Sheffield Wednesday loans
Despite a valiant attempt this season, Wednesday are almost certain to go down this season after a points deduction, and ongoing financial trouble.
In most circumstances, it would not be the most stable environment for a young loanee, but the club have shown they are turning this crisis into an opportunity.
Their use of Amass and his growth there will make them an attractive landing spot for more Premier League loanees in January.
United should be the first in line if that materialises, sending a player or two more to become Amass’ teammate for the rest of the season.
If they put their heads down and work hard like Amass has, it would be a move that benefits all parties greatly.
