Manchester United starlet Hannibal Mejbri has been called up by Tunisia for the FIFA Arab Cup.
The midfielder chose to play his international football for Tunisia back in May, and is eligible because both his mother and his father were born there.
He has made three appearances for them so far and is still waiting for his first goal.
What is the FIFA Arab Cup?
The FIFA Arab Cup is the Arab world’s international football tournament and the 2021 edition will be the first with the FIFA Arab Cup branding.
It is will take place between 30 November and 18 December in Qatar, who will of course also host the 2022 World Cup.
The tournament phase will involve 16 teams and Tunisia have been drawn against the United Arab Emirates, Syria and Mauritania.
Hannibal made his return after injury to Manchester United’s Under-23 side on Friday night against Derby.
United were without both Amad, Shola Shoretire and Anthony Elanga, so he had to take on the creative burden immediately.
He did that, with an incisive pass from the halfway line split the Derby defence and allowed Charlie McNeil to score
It was a moment of genius and made the game 1-1, which was how it ended.
Hannibal will be hoping to show those moments of quality on the world stage in the weeks ahead as Tunisia go for glory.
