Brazilian club Gremio made a loan proposal to sign Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri.
It was revealed this week by Brazilian outlet Correio Do Povo that Gremio made an attempt to sign Facundo Pellistri on loan from Manchester United.
The move was made on transfer deadline day back in January. Gremio were prepared to pay half Pellistri’s salary until the end of the season.
Manchester United rejected the offer because Erik ten Hag planned to use Pellistri as part of his squad.

Pellistri’s slow and steady progress
Facundo Pellistri has begun to make slow in-roads towards the Manchester United first team. He is a regular in the matchday squad.
He made his first start in early March in a 1-0 win away at Real Betis in the Europa League round of 16.
Heading into 2023 he had not played a single minute in a competitive game for Manchester United’s first team.
MORE UNITED STORIES
He has now made 10 appearances in total for the Red Devils, and while he is not starting games regularly, he is picking up vital experience.
Now 21, Pellistri signed for Manchester United from Penarol in 2020. He waited a long time for his chance at Old Trafford, and was not keen to leave in January, with a chance on the horizon.
Next season, there is a good chance Pellistri is sent back out on loan again.
He has to make the jump to reach the next level, and it seems he’s not quite ready to be a regular starter for United.
Whether a move to Brazil is on the agenda is another matter entirely. Pellistri would be better suited attempting to sign for a Premier League club, where he can catch United’s eye more easily.
For now, there is still plenty of football left to be played, and Pellistri can influence his future with his performances when he gets games between now and the end of the season.
