Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho was in action on Tuesday night for Borussia Dortmund but failed to impress.
Since heading back to the Signal Iduna Park in Janaury, Jadon Sancho hasn’t quite set the world alight as he likely expected to.
On Tuesday night though, he had a huge opportunity to silence all critics in the Champions League knockout stage against PSV.
This ultimately wasnt the way it went though as he had a woeful night, struggling to be of any consquence to his Eredivisie opponents which left Old Trafford fans reacting on social media.
In the aftermath of the game, German media have reacted to the performance by the 23-year-old winger who is on loan from Manchester United.

What the German media have said about Jadon Sancho’s performance vs PSV
With a performance far below par, Sancho has been scrutinised by the German media.
Sport 1 reviewed his performance, handing him a 5/10 match rating before saying: “Was tried but too often overzealous and inaccurate. Made the wrong decisions too often, and could rarely prevail in the dribbling. Therefore, he remained offensively rather pale.”
Spox handed Sancho a 4.5/10 match rating before also giving a brutal review of his ‘unhappy’ performance: “You can clearly see that self-image and rhythm are still missing. He had some unfortunate actions in the initial phase, which came very uninspired and always resulted in ball losses. The best scene was then his presence of mind after Can’s ball win in the creation of the 1:0. After that, the Englishman completely went into hiding for a long time, tried a little more after the break – but remained unhappy.”
Finally Ran gave him a 5/10 match rating before saying that he was a non factor in the game: “Is not a factor in the first half, is hardly involved and has accordingly few actions. Even after the change of side, there are virtually no impulses. Unhappy Evening.”
Jadon Sancho’s stats vs PSV
Sancho lasted 68 minutes against PSV on Tuesday night and in that time, did very little.
According to FotMob he completed just 15 passes, with just one into the final third and had 31 touches. He was dispossessed four times and lost five duels (winning two).
A performance which was very much a bunch of nothing from Sancho which is very disapponting given it was in the bright spotlight of the Champions League.
At this rate, United are going to struggle to ditch Sancho this summer without taking a serious hit and paying some wages too.
