Ruben Amorim’s future is in doubt at Manchester United following a disappointing defeat to Brentford in the Premier League.
The wait for back-to-back wins in the Premier League continues following a 3-1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
The only silver lining to an otherwise miserable performance was that summer signing Benjamin Sesko scored his first goal for United since joining from RB Leipzig.
Other than that, Bruno Fernandes missed a vital penalty and United fans were fuming at Luke Shaw’s display.
Ruben Amorim cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines, but he cannot be blameless in United’s terrible run of form.

Gary Neville questions Ruben Amorim decision vs Brentford
Throughout this season, Gary Neville has questioned Amorim’s substitutions after noticing that he has a tendency to chop and change his back five in most matches.
Amorim retains Ineos support, but his in-game management is being increasingly scrutinised.
Speaking to NBC Sports, Gary Neville said that Amorim left himself looking “stupid” with his instructions to Mason Mount in particular.
“I’m very worried,” Neville said. “There’s no point in me sitting here and saying I’m not. I think the levels of performance and the results, the substitutions.
“Yesterday I saw something that I saw at the end of the Grimsby game in the Carabao Cup a few weeks ago which was Mason Mount ending up at left wing-back.
“Now, we admire managers who are resilient and stubborn around their system – we want them to stick to their plan.
“But when you have Mason Mount playing left wing-back you’re going to look pretty stupid. It’s happened twice now, it can’t happen. The first time I thought it was unforgivable.
“He changes his back three and back five every game and the performances and results are unacceptable. I’m really worried.
“I will never say a manager should be sacked but I suspect the hierarchy at Manchester United will want a turnaround very quickly.”
How Ruben Amorim can get Man United fans back on side
While patience in Amorim is quickly running out, there is still large portions of the fanbase who are not eager to hit the restart button.
Last season, United fans showed long-term support for Amorim, but first things first – results need to improve.
Alongside that, there are a few selection decisions that would immediately get fans back on board. Firstly, Kobbie Mainoo deserves to play. The insistence to leave him on the bench has become a frustration for fans.

Secondly, Senne Lammens must start matches after arriving in the summer. Confidence in Altay Bayindir is at an all-time low, especially after another underwhelming performance against Brentford.
All is not lost for the Portuguese head coach, but he is certainly running out of chances.
