Some of Manchester United’s Class of 92 are not having the best time at the moment with their business venture in Salford City.
Salford currently sit 21st in League Two, just six points off dreaded relegation back to the National League.
Due to this, former head coach Neil Wood was sacked, with the final straw being after a 5-1 defeat to Tranmere on Boxing Day.
Now Gary Neville and co are on the hunt for a new managerial acquisition, with a potential candidate for the job right under their noses.

Ryan Giggs is up for Salford City job
According to a report from The Sun, co-owner Ryan Giggs is in the running to become Salford City’s new boss.
The former Manchester United legend and dazzling Welsh winger, now 50, joined other members of the Class of 92 in investing in Salford in 2014.
Now he could be set to become even more involved with the Manchester-based side, with the report stating he ‘could be considered’.
He joins a three-man shortlist, with Former Grimsby manager Paul Hurst and ex-Charlton boss Dean Holden also in the frame.
Ryan Giggs’s previous managerial experience
Giggs does have previous managerial experience, including becoming the manager of Manchester United.
Giggs replaced David Moyes in 2014 for four league matches, becoming only the second-ever player-manager in the club’s history after Clarence Hilditch.
After this, Giggs became head coach of the Welsh national team in 2018. However, he quit his job as boss of the Dragons last June, having stepped away from his role in November 2020 after being arrested.
The Salford job would be Giggsy’s return to football, but even with his ties to the club, he won’t have it easy.
Salford have sacked Graham Alexander, Richie Wellens and Gary Bowyer since their promotion to League Two in 2019 – with Wood being their latest dismissal.
It’ll be interesting to see what materialises at the League Two strugglers in the coming weeks.
